It is not hormone free, Im not sure where you found that out. From the site directly (as well as the pamplet I received from my OBGYN) "Mirena, an estrogen-free intrauterine contraceptive (IUC) that delivers small amounts of hormone directly to the uterus"
So maybe you have confused it with estrogen? Just wanted to make sure no one was confused by the statement. You can read more about it on their website
