Rotes Gesicht Abnormal findings on brain? Leading to M.R.I, Is this a mistake?

I am 20 years old, first time pregnant, soon to be first time parent. I found out I was pregnant on July 22nd and my baby messured 19 weeks 4 days which gave me an estimated due date of Nov. 22th. My last doctors appointment was on Fri. 13, Aug. 2010, when I found out that my baby was messuring in at about 20 weeks and some days. My doctor changed my estimated due date, and told me there were abnormal findings on my baby's brain, she explained to me that the findings were bad to the degree that I may have the option to terminate my pregnancy. She was unsure of the findings and the effect it may have on my baby so she referred me to a spe******t. I went to see the spe******t on Tues. 17, Aug. 2010. The spe******t explained that there were possibly fluids on the brain, but was also unsure so the spe******t scheduled me a M.R.I scan for my baby, thats tomorrow.

I'm nervous I really don't know what to expect or who to turn to.

First, let me say that a lot of times, they misinterpret things or are wrong. I hope that is the case this time.

Regardless, I HIGHLY recommend that you do not entertain any thoughts of killing your baby. Savor the time you have. This IS your baby! Love the baby, sing to the baby, enjoy the kicks and wiggles. If there *is* something wrong, that will NOT change the fact that this is your *baby* - your child.

I have a friend who had a child with anencephaly. Her baby was born alive and lived for 28 precious hours. Those memories are priceless and irreplaceable.

I hope your baby turns out to be healthy and beautiful.

I agree. Those tests are only as accurate as the one taking the scans and the one reading scans. There's time for healing before delivery and for any repair work that needs to be done. My cousin listened to her doctor and aborted her baby based a tests possible outcome. Cherish what you have and what the baby has for as long as you have each other.
