Abortion

If the doctor detected that something may be wrong, would you opt for an abortion or would you wait out the pregnancy. I know it is a hard decision, what would you do?

No, never. It doesn't matter what is wrong with my child-if the only time I will have to be with my child is when they are in the womb, then I will take that time. I would not sacrifice that time for anything.

Very tough call and its hard to make such a choice when you are not in that line of sight just yet. I have always thought never unless life is in danger, but I'm not really sure after having two now.

This is a very tough decision to make and the truth is I don't know what I would do. Also the decision would have to be made by both parents.

We would not abort a baby under any circumstances except extreme danger for the mother (and it would have to be very extreme to me). We don't do much prenatal testing for this reason (none with my dd, but because she had a heart problem, we did a fetal echo on my son).

If ever my wife (in the future) would go into this kind of situation, I would personally would still let the child live. Its a gift for us and I will gladly accept the baby whatever problem he or she might have.

The only time that I would agree to abortion is that when the life of my wife will be at stake. I mean if I would have to choose between the baby and my wife. But then again its easier said than done.

Never. Doctors have been known to be wrong before, and babies have been known to be resiliant. Besides, if there was something seriously wrong so that my baby would die at birth, I would go through the pregnancy knowing that at least I had a little time with my child.

I would have to be 100% sure that both my baby and I were going to die, as in an ectopic pregnancy to do anything like that.

Any handicap is not worth aborting my child over.

Could you please clarify the "something may be wrong"? Is it just a physical defect? If it is then I would not let my wife abort it, never! But if it is a life and death situation, I will just cross the bridge when I get there. Its really hard to say which life to choose. I hope that will never happen to me.
