:D

A friend just let me know that her four year old girl is learning how to play with the house phone and knows to dial 9-1-1 in case something happens, but has now dialed it twice for a non emergency, can someone say oops in big letters? The last I knew if they were called for something not needed the first time is tolerable but anything after that you get charged a fine for, is this still the case?

I have a friend who didn't know that her child had called 911 until the police arrived at her door to tell her that whilst she was in the shower, her four year old was having a nice chat with an operator and had left the phone off the hook. They came to make sure that everything was ok since the four year old would not go and get mommy.

No charge was made, but they did suggest resources to help teach the child not to do it again.

I know at one point when I was in school a neighbor's kid dialed the cops a couple times and they ended up getting fined $5,000 for the multiple calls as its expensive to pay everyone for showing up, etc. The first time he just got a talking to, but after that they start getting a bit miffed.
