View Full Version : After Birth Pains

Were you warned, or did you have any prior knowledge of how bad the after birth pains would be? I was almost floored by how bad the contractions hurt-as silly as this may seem it was more painful than pushing. I'd had a nice half hour break from contraction pain and so I wasn't ready for it to start again, and also the later pains were for a GOOD purpose-birthing my baby.

Where as the after birth pains-well it didn't achieve anything I looked forward to! And my placenta was a bit slow detaching and so I had people pulling on the cord and mashing my belly which hurt a lot too.

I think a lot of the time that things would be easier to cope with if you are warned before.

I didn't have any noticeable ones with my first, after my second they were noticeable, but not terrible, but after my third OMG AWFUL!!! I've heard they get worse every time, I'm scared for what's coming after number 4. I may have to tell them to leave in the epidural! :D

I don't recall having any at all, I only have one so far. I hope that pain won't be a detterent if you really want to have another child.

The third was almost as bad as labour, and I didn't use drugs and had back labour. They only lasted a couple of days with me, and only when I nursed, but nursing also helped speed things up. I'm glad, though, that I'm done at 3.
