View Full Version : Are you pro-life or pro-choice?

I've always been pro-life. In my opinion, life begins at conception. That's why, when we found out we were pregnant, we got this little one bedroom apartment. We knew we'd be keeping it, and it would need a home. At least this is a home, no matter how small.

I never really liked to argue the subject, I just always find it interesting to see others thoughts on the subject.

I've always been pro-choice... personally I would never abort a child but I don't think I can make that call for anyone else. Then again I'm a libertarian and I feel that way about everything. :)

Being a father-to-be, I don't really feel like I can understand what an expecting mother is going through, especially with an unwanted baby.

Another issue for me is abortion alternatives. As far as I'm concerned Bill Clinton said it best: "Abortions should be safe, legal, and rare." If abortions are made illegal, women will be forced into uncomfortable situations and may have to literally go to a butcher shop for abortions.

Just my 2 cents.

i'm pro life and think that abortion is murder, in any circumstance. put your child up for adoption if you don't think you're responsible enough for it.

i'm not really much into the argument either, but i feel pretty passionate about it. :o

I am pro-choice. Only in the case that the child and or mother could have serious defects. Killing the baby just so you won't have it is ludicris.

I am pro-life, although Popo brings up some good points. If the mother are baby could be harmed in any way, I would want things to be safe.

As a parent its hard for me to be pro choice, allthough I can see their veiw point and respect it.

I am prolife. I also do not think you should be having sex before marriage. It is so sad all these babies paying the price for their parents decisions. There would be a lot less if people waited until they were married to have sex.

I'm pro-choice. I just so happen to think that 99% of the time abortion is the wrong choice. But I do think it SHOULD be your choice. It's something I don't think I could ever do, but I will not climb up on my high horse and look down at someone else for a decision that was a) not easy and b) is probably already going to haunt them the rest of their life without me jumping around pointing my finger and calling them names.

:( I have done tele-fundraising for NRTL (National Right to Life), which is a pro-life organization that tries to get the word out, not only they are pro-life, but they would prefer others be educated on things that can and do happen during an abortion.

For myself, life does begin before conception, it starts right when the deed is done. I could never, ever have an abortion myself. However I do understand (as sometime NRTL does as well), that in case of mothers life in danger/rape/incest it can be used for good.

I have been raped, and I don't think I could carry or care for the child, even though it is not the child's fault how he/she was conceived.

I think I would be stubborn to not give up my child's life for my own, I am stubborn that way.

And incest, as far as that is concerned, there are a couple of answers:
1 conceptual - other options such as adoption
2 even though can cause numerous medical issues, see above :)
3 if it is rape, same thing applies.

I hate to see so many people want to have children, and can not, abortion is not a birth control, if ANYTHING, it is for ABSOLUTE DIRE ISSUES ONLY.

This is a hard subject to go through personally, as I was 21 when pregnant the first time, my (now) ex asked me for over a month to abort, rather than take his own responsibility.
