My best friend has made all of her own baby food. When she was younger she always had her own garden, and now that she has a baby she is using her veggies to make her own food. I think that it is wonderful because there are no chemicals at all in the food. I am wondering if she needs to supplement with any vitamins because nothing is fortified with anything else. Does anyone know?

Hypothetically we only fortify things because we don't eat a balanced diet with enough produce, so if she grows her own and feeds a variety she shouldn't need to supplement either. Food wasn't always supplemented because we didn't always use GMO seeds and processes that take out vitamins and minerals.
This kid has got it real good. Sounds to me like mom is fortifying these foods with vitamin LOVE and it doesn't get any better than that. :)

Everything should be good. As long as she is making sure that there is variety in the babies diet. Make sure that the baby is eating enough and all shall be good. What a lucky baby.
I tried last year to plant a garden and nothing grew. This coming year I need to treat all of the soil and try again. I hope it works, I would love to have a fresh garden!

Alexis-I can not wait for spring to come so that I can start my garden. I love being outside and being productive all at the same time. It is nice to have fresh vegetables to eat.
