Has any one here done the baby modeling thing or have you considered it?
I never wanted to do that with mine. My sister took my daughter to have her pics done a Glamor Shots one time. Even though they were done in a very artsy manner, I remember thinking that she looked like Jon Bennete.
The had her face made up, her hair done up in a french twist with soft loose curls to frame her face and a pink feather boa drapped around her shoulders, She had a pink, shinney, off the shoulder thing on her. She was 5, but she was done up to look like a 20 year old
It was just scarey for me.

My husband has a cousin who's little girl did some modeling and some pagents. It never really went anywhere though. She's a beautiful little girl, but I think you have to have money to really keep your child in that. And my husband's cousin is a single mom with 3 kids... she just couldn't afford all the clothes and stuff.

My Aunt did the modeling circuit with her son. When he was a kid, he was very laid back and really didn't care what he would wear. Now as an adult he is very conscience of how he looks and what he wears. I mean obsessively so. Maybe he would have been that way, I don't know, but I've got a feeling it had a lot to do with the modeling.

I can't see myself putting my children through that. Seems like an awful lot of pressure on the child to succeed. And then their feelings get hurt if they get turned down. They shouldn't have to deal with that kind of rejection at a very young age.

That's another reason why I never wanted to put my kids through that; the rejection. They are going to get enough of that in school in so many different ways.

I agree with you both. The rejection things doesn't need to hang over their heads in such a dire matter. I think that most parents are living out something that they may have wanted to do when they were kids. Just wannbe stage moms.
