I was reading that you shoudn't use baby powder because powder cakes and builds up in skin creases and can contribute to skin irritation and rash, and can contribute to fungus infections of the skin. Also, babies can inhale the powder, and it can irritate their nasal and respiratory passages. What then, would you use instead of baby powder? Or is it best to just use nothing at all?
Really? Have a source?
I had to search again to find the page where I had read that. Here's the source... http://www.askdrsears.com/html/10/T110228.asp

I always used cornstarch based powders. They are heavier in content and don't fly around. Rice powder, which is harder to find, can be used also. When I would use any powder, rather than shake it on the baby, I would just pour a little in my hand and smooth it on the baby.

It depends (IMHO) if you have a boy or a girl, I have noticed it does clump more with my girl right now - so I try to avoid it at all costs!

I love babypowder, just make sure you clean the baby up well between uses, and don't let it fly loose in the air around their face, it can get in their lungs and cause all sorts of problems.
