What was the first gift your child recieved upon birth? My son got a football from me and my daughter got 3 dolls.

My kids' first gifts were clothes. Nothing really special. For my granddaughter, I went to the bank right after my daughter told me the good news and I set up an account for the baby. I put $1,000 in there to start off, and I gave my daughter the passbook. I'm putting money in there every week, and will make another big deposit on the day of her birth. As far as I know, this is her first gift.

My mother got my daughter a Cabbage Patch Kid. She stood in line for hours for it. I thought that they were the ugliest things around. They looked like over grown troll dolls. If I had known that my mother was going to go to all that trouble for that doll I would have talked her out of it. When she put it in the crib with my daughter, all she did was frown at it. When my mother left I would take it out of the crib. If I knew that she was due for a visit I would pop it back in.

I think my mom is going to buy some stocks when our child is born. So I think that will be his first gift.

My son was flattered from his grandmother when she walked in the room with her huge camera and started to take pictures of him like a little model, we still have the pictures and she is an awesome photographer! My daughter got a pink stuffed bear (which she loves bears now) from her Great Aunt & Uncle, along with white baby shoes from DH's boss, and afew more little odd and ends from him and I. :)

My bubba's first gifts were a stuffed moose from one grandma, and a stuffed puppy from the other grandma that said "peekaboo I see you" when you squeezed it.
