Where do you prefer to take your kids for a fun day outdoors? Do you have a backyard playground with swingset and all the other accessories, or do you take them to a local park for all of that?

I grew up with a big backyard complete with a garden and trees. It was my own personal little forest. I had a sandbox, tricycle and other toys to play with..like my grandparents garden tools! I learned about all sorts of bugs and birds, flowers, fruits and vegetables.

With my kids we lived in a small apartment. I would take them to the park, not far from our home and on the weekends Dad would take them to walk the dog. I think it's just a matter of being outside when you can.

A backyard for some is safer, but the kids don't get to play with others. I would take them to a park where I knew the kids hang out.

We are definitely doing the park (we live 2 blocks away from one) or the neighbor's house with playground in back yard.
