I have heard two stories of dad's fainting in the labour room during their partner's childbirth. Anyone heard any stories about us dads 'misbehaving' in the labour room?

There seem to be tons of stories about dad's fainting, missing the birth because they "just stepped out for a second" and other things. Sometimes I'm not sure they are always ready for such and experience.

I have to wonder, is a man ever ready to see his favorite plaything (and face it, it is a fun toy) stretched to the max like it is? It's painful to us, traumatizing to them LOL. It takes a strong man to stand by and watch all that without passing out.
Its not easy for ordinary fathers to see their wives delivering the baby into this world. It takes courage and strong stomach to be there while the mother is giving birth.
When my wife gave birth to Cham, I was just beside my wife and only looking at her. I try my best not to look at the opening but when the doctor said that the head is coming out, I did look and its like my stomach turned over. But at least I didn't faint and he was the most beautiful gift me and my wife ever received!

When our first was born, my husband (then boyfriend) didn't handle it well. He didn't faint, but he was anxious, sweating, fidgety. I had to send him out of the room because he was rubbing off on me during my labor. We were young then. He's gotten much better with practice, and was even able to watch our third being born.
Not all of the stories that happen do you hear about. One friend of mine had her child and her husband ended up sleeping in the car after passing out from the birth of his child (he doesnt have a tough stomach I guess). And my own father ended up passing out cracking his head on a counter top and getting stitches during my birth. :D

We went to see movies about birth at the hospital before having her and my husband turned green and almost lost it. It was too funny but made me nervous that he wouldn't make it so I ended up having two coaches. I took my aunt in case he passed out on me.
He didn't pass out but I will always remember him eating my ice chips and wiping the sweat off his face with a diaper! I had 36 hours of labor and he's sweating....LOL!

The father of my younger three children (have an older daughter from another relationship) was present for our first and third children's births. For the first one, he had to take a sedative but he lasted throughout the "ordeal." He was truly nervous but was rewarded greatly. I promise this is true. When Aina was born (natural childbirth with midwives in a hospital) they placed her on my stomach. He said something and she opened her eyes and sought him out. She looked him dead in his face. She has been a daddy's girl ever since. He and I eventually married and then divorced but she only stayed with me because she didn't want to hurt my feelings. LOL
