Opening day is coming up. I love baseball, I normaly go to about 20 phillie games a year. Cant wait to take my daughter to a few. Any one else like baseball?

Since I grew up in Detriot I am a loyal Tigers fan. Hopefully they will have a good year.

I'm not really a baseball fan, but I lived around Memorial Stadium, in Baltimore, before they tore it down. The neighborhood would get pumped up before a game.

Opening day started for everyone in that neighborhood about a week before opening day. The schools, the churches, the merchants would get together for a rally. They would block off 33rd Street, the street that ran in front of the Stadium, and party all day. There were bands, food, contests, rides and Oriole players that would show up. I would go to that and when my kids were small I would walk up and join the fun for the day. Such fond memories.

I'm a O's fan, but I have to say they haven't been doing very well for the last couple of years. I don't even watch a game unless they are winning more than losing. Maybe this year.
