My son Trevor has sensitive ears because of the constant ear infections he used to get. He can't stand sudden loud noises, and extremely loud noises such as fireworks.

Does he have nerve damage or something? At least he still has his hearing. I know a lot of serious ear infections at a very young age can sometimes cause deafness.

How would you treat something like that? Are frequent ear infections a hereditary thing, and if not is there a way to protect your child from getting them?

Ha! My son's name is Trevor also. He sometimes gets ear infections often, but he did get tubes put in. They are a lot better now.

I had ear infections when I was a kid. I ended up having tubes in my ears also, but they fell out. I never had them put back in and I don't think that my hearing was any worse one way or the other.
