I have epilepsy and I'm only 19. I still live with my mom and well, babysitting seems doubtful :(

Even though you may not be able to babysit alone, that doesn't mean you can't help someone else. You can make it easier for your mom to babysit by taking care of the baby/child when it's just attention that's needed. Sometimes, that's the hardest part about babysitting. The primary sitter may have things to do around the house, but the baby wants attention. You can give that attention. If you try, I'm sure you can find many ways to make yourself useful and part of the babies life.

Wow, that's just good advice!! I never looked at it like that. I am always looking for little ways I can help, but never thought of just entertaining so she could get something done!!! Thanks for the info donna!

Hey, entertaining is the BEST PART! There's nothing quite as fun as being able to completely let loose when you're alone with a baby and know that the dumber you are, the happier they will be, and they'll never tell anyone what a dork you are. ;)

I had an experience with my little cousin when I went to have a vacation in their house one day and everyone is going somewhere else besides me and I was left to babysit him, his name is Lance. After he finished his bottle of milk, he is still awake and started crying. I look at his diaper and it was dry so I think he just needs more milk, so I gave another bottle but he just put it aside. So what I did next is try to make him tired so that he will go to sleep. I raise him up and down and he was giggling while I'm raising him up. And then when my arms are already tired, I put him down to the crib and started making faces. His smile is really genuine and I tried looking at the mirror myself and laughed at myself. In the end, we both fell asleep.

That is so sweet cutebaby. It makes me teary eyed for some reason. But you are so exactly right. The smile is genuine. You know when a baby smiles at you that smile is so sincere and heartfelt. They are just as happy in reality as they look. No question. So innocent, so happy, so easy to please by just being with them.

Yeah, and those smiles of babies are priceless. I have this dream of filming most of the days in the first 5 years of my child in the future because those years are the most innocent years of kids. They ask honest questions that makes us laugh even though if a mature person will ask that same question, it will make us angry.

Right now, I'm away from my country and I miss my cousin a lot. He is now almost 2 years old and they told me that he is speaking clearly now. I could remember the time that I was trying to make him speak my name while he is seated on my lap. All he can say was "bah", which I have no idea what it was. Then her sister arrive and told me it was "Barney".

In the end, we both fell asleep.
That can happen to the best of us! :)
