does your child have a favorite board game. Right now my sons favorite is Life. Im going to teach him risk just because I love it.

I didn't. The first game I can ever remember playing was Parchesi. It was my mom's favorite board game and she taught me to play it when I was about 4 or 5. I love board games, so I imagine any children I have will be learning all kinds of games as soon as they're old enough to catch on. Maybe their first game memory will be Parchesi with Mommy and Gramma. :D

I think the first games the kids play are whatever is of interest to them. If they are brought up around a certain game then that is usually their first. if you want to start them early start with candyland or yatzee or something and then move up as they get older.

My children have grown up playing various board games, some that are really just fun and others that are strategy type games, which help them to think things though before making a move. I think that games can have a positive impact on how children grow up.

My son loves Candyland. We have memory games and counting games, and he has his own computer. So he gets to play on toddler sites also. I think we oughta start a kid friendly site thread! *whizzes off to do so*

haha, He ALREADY fights for his own time. That's why he has his own computer already :D It's a very slow little something I picked up on freecycle, but it's all his and he loves it. We just picked him up a blue's clues learning game for it today at Best Buy!

After you teach him Risk, go to Axis and Allies. That'll take you a LONG time to play. And teach. I'm still learning too.
