Do you play games in the car when you're on a long trip? When I was a kid my parents made up games we'd play in the car to help pass the time. I remember one of them was you had to find your first initial on a license plate, and you got a point every time you did. Another one was, my mom would make a list of stuff we'd probably see along the way, and you had to look for the stuff on the list. Like it could be cow, horse, apple tree, fruit stand, red mailbox... then if you saw one of them you'd say "I see the apple tree", then that one had to come off the list. Fun times. Anybody have any more games to share?

I remember playing "Aliens Bake Cookies" when I was a kid. It was a game my parents made up (at least I think they did). We'd look at license plates and make a sentence with the letters... for example ABC = aliens bake cookies. Lots of laughs at the silly sentences we ended up making. I'll probably continue that one with my kids once they're old enough to read.

My parents made up these cards....like Bingo cards. We would pick one out. The cards had the alphabet on it. Each column had a letter.
B= A-E
I= F-J
N= K-O
G= P-T
O= U-Z
Free Space was a picture of a car. My mom would call like B-DOOR or Q-QUAIL. We used a pencil or a crayon to mark off the first sound of the word. The winner would get to choose where they wanted to eat or where to pick up something to take home.
I am going to play that game with my son when he starts school. I wish the cards were still around...lol

My grandparents sometimes would take us out for the Sunday car rides in the country. My grand dad would pick a letter and we had to look for things that began or ended in that letter and yell it out. There were never enough "Z" words...lol

Slug bug. But we're not allowed to really punch each other though. And there's not really very many volkswagons on the road anyway.
