Once your baby is old enough to eat cereal (the real kind from the box, not baby cereal), do you choose sweetened or unsweetened? My kids loved cheerios when they were a year old or so. We'd carry a tupperware container with some in it for treats. My sister chose to give her kids captain crunch (sugar overload) and they just seemed to be wired for sound all the time. But she had them so used to the sugar that they wouldn't touch anything else. I think you should keep the sugar away from them as long as you possibly can.

Yep, we did the cherrio thing to. My daughter had problems with small motor skills for awhile and having her pick out a cherrio one at a time was a great way to help her strenghten that and teach her numbers. "Kelly, pick me out 4 cherrios one at a time." It was a game for her and she had no idea that I was working on a developmental problem.

I went for the shredded wheat. Non-sugar kind. Cherrios were our 2nd choice.

All children seem to love cherrios. I wonder why that is? guess their just to good.
I give my kid mostly unsweetend ceral just because its healthy and he seems to enjoy it.
