View Full Version : Convertible or Carry Carseat?

Hello, new to the forum, my wife and I are expecting on December 19th. I have read some threads on car seats and strollers, and we are firm believers that leaving a baby in one place to cart them from car to house to stroller is in the long run of no benefit to their health. I have been told by a few that it is not good to put newborns in to a convertible carseat and that the carrying snap in type is the only way to go. I disagree, I think as long as it reclines and is rear facing, it is ok to use. Also, per other threads and common knowledge, I think a woken newborn is not typically very hard to get back to sleep? I mean.........what did we do before travel systems were out? And we turned out ok.....I think.....

Any thoughts?

With twins on the way, we're searching for anything that might help make life easier. So I think we're going to go with a travel system. We saw a good one for twins (Peg-Perego). It's expensive, but worth it for the convenience.

I definitely have to agree that keeping them in one type of seat for that amount of time is not the right thing to do. Those types confine the baby and they might need to move around a bit as well. After all we do not like to be in one position for long periods of time, why would you expect that to be ok for your child.

You are on the right track and I think your child will be fine. Keep in mind that just because one persons that is the right thing to do, you are the one who decides what is right for your child.
