I'm just wondering about this, so don't string me up! :p How many women actually have cravings and how many are just craving because they think they are supposed to. As soon as my sister gets pregnant, she's had 5, she starts going on about how she craves chili cheese fries and things like that. I think she is full of it. What are ya'lls thoughts?

I think cravings are your body's way of telling you what you need. For instance, with my first, I craved milk. My second was pasta. Maybe your sister is in need of more fibre or protein.

Oh, cravings are VERY real. With Dante I craved sweet stuff: chocolate, cranberry jelly, tomatoes with a bit of sugar on top. This time around I want salty everything! But no meat... just the thought revolts me.

Well, I do think that some women's bodies are lacking something and cravings are their body's way of telling them that. However, when my sister would get pregnant, right off the bat, like the first week, she starts off craving all this junk food. In my sister's case, I think she just wants the junk food and knows that no one is going to tell a pregnant woman no. :p

I think that the cravings are very real. When pregnant I craved peanut butter-and yet I hate the stuff. I ate it every day till about a week after I gave birth, when the desire switched off again.

I hate the stuff again now.

I believe cravings are real. With my first I wanted cake, dreamed of cake, baked cakes, etc. I am so not a cake person so it was a little strange to have this urge. Also, I craved grilled cheese sandwiches from Sonic. Weird, I know.

I didn't have any cravings with my last baby but I craved sour cream with my first one and I absolutely hated sour cream before then! Now, I love it on everything! Well, almost everything, I do have limits- like no sour cream on cereal, lol.

I craved fruit with all of my babies. With my first I craved ham, eggs, and veggies all mixed up with tons of ketchup on it. I also couldn't stand milk when I was pregnant with him, even though I normally love milk, and to this day, as a teenager, he won't drink white milk (he loves Chocolate though). I never craved anything weird though, like pickles and ice cream combinations. Although with my 2nd I was obsessed with pickles wrapped in a slice of cheese!
