Do you knit, crochet, or sew? Do you make things for your babies and children? I can knit and crochet, but I haven't made anything for the babies. My grandma can quilt. She is making baby quilts for each of them.

my mom knits a few things. Its more of a hobby but she has made a few shirts. She used to be pretty talented.

My mom used to make us simple clothes, but when we got bigger, she stopped.

My mom makes afghans with pastel color yarn. She uses a huge (like over an inch around) knitting needle and a crocheting needle so I don't know if she's knitting or crocheting. But the afghans are pretty. She always makes one when she finds out somebody is pregnant and she gives it to them for part of their baby shower gift. I wonder if she'll make one for me?

I am sure your mom will do that for you. I can't see a future grandmother not doing anything of the sort. Good luck :).

I tried to learn how to sew. I had problems trying to figure out the patterns in putting together boys pants. I could do simple dresses, shirts and blouses, but pants just didn't zip for me...lol

I'm lucky I can sew a button on now a days...lol

She's not going to make anything. She's so mad at me right now. She keeps saying she hopes I messed up on the home test. Guess we'll know for sure in a couple of days. How long does it take to get the test results from the doctor?

If it happens to be found that you are pregnant, I can't see how your mom could be mad. This is a human life in you right now, and although it is an accident, it still needs help!

Your mom will come around. It's hard for a mom to want a daughter to do things in order or what they feel they would like to see you do. Once she gets use to the idea, she'll be there in ways that are comfortable for her.

I made a blouse once. The right arm was 3 inches longer than the left arm (which was sewn shut by the way)and it was really, really long. I was pretty young at the time, but I haven't had the urge to try again.

LOL Lily. I can relate to that. My mom can sew great. Good thing I have her for instructions, eh!

My mom's sewing skills end with sewing on a button. And, at one time she had one of those little button things to do that. What was it called? Buttoneer or something like that? It had these little plastic thingies you puched through to hold a button on. Guess I inherited her skills (or lack there of). :)

I can't sew or anything, but I really wish I could. At least my mom made my son some blankets and stuff. I was so happy to give him something handmade by his grandma. I think things like that are extra special.
