I felt it was the right call by the doctor and had I been the parent knowing it was my childs time to go I would not want them to suffer such a fate as these two did. Anything to ease it would be a blessing in my opinion.

So what was he supposed to do? Let these poor babies suffer? How inhumane is that? When my grandma was dying, hospice gave her stuff to "ease the pain", this tiny 80 pound woman was on a large dose of morphine. I don't know if she would have lived longer without it, but my God, why would anyone have wanted her to? It's devastating to watch someone you love in that much pain. If hospice can do whatever they need to do to ease the suffering of an old, or terminally ill patient, then the medical community should be able to use whatever they've got to ease the suffering of this poor infant that obviously doesn't have long in this world. What kind of coldhearted government is it that would press charges against this doctor. If I was the mom of one of those poor babies, I'd go to court and testify for the defense. They should give him an award, not a criminal record.

I think as long as the parents agreed to it, then all should be fine. The main reason people are throwing mud in this guys face is because not everything was documented the way "they" wanted it to be. Sadly, I think he will go through having alot of people dislike him for this, but I see why he did not waste anytime, I would not have wanted my child to suffer like that either.
