Is there any harm in eating too much tomatoes? My sons seems to love them at this stage and he pushes the other veggies aside to get to them.

The only worry would be acidity. I thnk if he eats too many, he may end up with a diaper rash. Otherwise, it's fine. If he wants tomatoes, let him have tomatoes.

Tomatos are a really good thing to eat, all bar that acidity issue. My little one gets this nasty ring of spots around his anus if he eats too much, and if a tomato based sauce stays on his face he gets a red mark that stays after.
But they are packed with vitamins.

As long as you don't see any adverse reactions (i.e. diaper or skin rashes), let him eat the tomatoes. Tomatoes are one of the best sources of vitamin C as well as a host of other important nutrients. By the way, although it is commonly called a vegetable, the tomato is actually classified as a fruit. Don't know why we call it a vegetable.

Different children react to foods differently. I think that they are not a bug deal to overeat. Like people have already mentioned watch for diaper rash. The acidity is high on tomaotes.

We probably call them veggies since they aren't necessarily sweet or used in desserts. Veggies tend to go in entrees and fruits go in desserts.
Either way allowing him to eat all he wants sounds good so long as there are no issues. Better to let him eat as many as he wants now than grow up to be an adult who hates veggies.

I just watched a special on tv that said that lots of tomatoes was actually really good for you. The study was on adults but I had to share with all of you. They said that the lycopene in tomatoes actually helped your skin so that if you are in the sun for periods of time your skin actually protects you better than if you did not eat tomatoes.
For babies, just watch the acidity level. Their bums are more sensitive than adults.
