I really need to do something. Anyone have advice for a grandma?
I have a hard time walking because of hip problems, so what can a girl do?
I'd love some advice :) Thanks!
I hear you on the hip issue, after my first I almost fell off the labor bed, my right hip popped and since then I got issues sometimes. I do a afew leg lifts when I can, otherwise I concentrate alot on my upper body strength. I was in a car wreck in Jan 03, and since then I have back/neck issues and some shoulder ones, so I try and keep moving otherwise things get sore. :)
Have you tried talking to a doctor to see what they may recommend?
Yeah. They recommended losing weight. lol
I actually meant, a more specific answer - did they tell you certain things you can and can not do b/c of any health reasons. :)
No, they really didn't bother to tell me anything. Just blamed it all on the weight and ignored any other requests for information or assistance. Like exactly the kind of information you were looking for. They just talk over me like I'm a dumb old lady.

Could you try getting a treadmill? That way you can walk in little bursts as your hips allow?
I'm saving up for one for pretty much the exact same reason. Ever since my son was born my hips get "stuck" lol. For lack of a better word. I figure some strengthening excercise would help, but need to get started slowly cause I'm really out of shape now..
