Did you have a weeky family night where you would go out to dinner as a family and play games? We did. It was every Tuesday, and we always had a blast. Family Night is really worthwhile.

Sounds like a fun idea, when my girl gets older we will definetly try that.
It's something my parents never did. Usually they both worked different shifts. My dad worked afternoons, so I never even saw him during the week. He'd be gone by the time I got home from school, and I'd be asleep by the time he got home. Hopefully, a family night will be a tradition we'll be able to start with our kids. Assuming my husband and I don't end up working the way my parents did, and I honestly don't see that happening.

We didn't have a family night per se, but we would have impromtu family outings. Sometimes, when the weather was good we would go on a pick nic in the State park. Usaully in the summer. We'd take a couple decks of cards or a board game. We'd set up in one of the single pavillions that had a grill, throw on the burgers and dogs, then chow down. We'd hike in the woods a little and then after we had cleaned up, before we loaded back in the car, we would play whatever we had brought.
It made for a peaceful summer day on the weekends.

Saturday night was family night for us. we would play board games or card games. When the kids got older I taught them some of the more complcated card games like canasta and poker. Mistake! Big mistake! They beat the pants off me in both games!

Family night for me was in the wintertime my grandfather would build a fire in the fireplace and make big batches of popcorn. Grandmom would make either oatmeal raisen cookies or fudge brownies.
In the summer time, if we wearn't fireing up the grill, we were digging into a bushel of crabs.
