I have never been pregnant, but I have known quite a many that were, and they always talked about their fears. Maybe not so much as them having a healthy baby, but a good example is a friend of mine, that between her first and second she had about a 5 year break between pregnancies. She had went through alot with cysts and wasn't sure if she could physically handle being pregnant again. Both pregnancies ended up being a little harsh for her, but she came through just fine. I remember talking to her until late at night when she needed a shoulder, just wondered if anyone else went through these types of fears or not and how common they really are.

I seem to hear alot of pregnant women saying they are more fearful while pregnant. whether its the hormones or the change in focus (from worrying about just you to you and the unborn child) I can't say. And based on how my mom is with me being in my twenties I'd have to say it never goes away, although its more manageable without me being home.

I have seen many ladies that were born in single parent households, worried they might not do a good job, only due to all the overwhelming that happens within the first few months after the baby is born. Then also, b/c they may have lost the only female in their life (their mom, or sister, etc.) and have no other female to confide with. Thats what sparked my interest, as I know some that have lost their females close to them, and wondered if there was anything I could do to reassure them. :)

I had a fear my second time around. Between both pregnancies I was in a major car wreck that put me in PT for 10 months, I still have neck/back/lower back/pelvic issues (my pelvic bone sits crooked). And also dealing with ovarian cysts off/on between the 4-5 year time span also freaked me out, let alone having to physically go through something so strenuous again. I had the support more the 2nd time around than the 1st, so it felt, it took 1/2 of my pregnancy for my fears to go away. I guess everyone is a little different. I also didn't have a mom around during either pregnancy, so I can relate to that also.
