So next Wednesday my best friend goes for her ultra sound to find out the sex of the baby. She'll be a bit past the 18-20 week mar they told her to aim for because they somehow neglected to schedule it for this past Tuesday when they said they would. She's wicked excited because they plan on painting their spare room in the apartment for the baby and making it a nursery. She plans on making it a blue Transformers theme if its a boy and a pink Hello Kitty room if its a girl. I kind of think a nice yellow/green theme might be nice and non-specific. I offered to make a frog mural or maybe giraffes if she decided to go with a neutral theme but she's dead set on her chosen colors. I'm not sure a tomboy raising a girl in a pink room isn't going to confuse the poor thing. Any ideas? What color did you paint your nursery if you knew the sex/or didn't?

I was a Tomboy growing up, I still kind of am too. My girls room was already painted before she was born, it was a tan color as it was a bedroom of ours. Her crib was all done in pink (if I'm not going to wear that color, someone in this house is), and now her room is upstairs, which used to be her Daddy's office, so now her room (sadly I need to redo this soon) is pink for the crib bedding, and orange on the walls. :D We are teaching her really bright colors, the walls are like Home Depot orange (her dad loves this color).

I think it was pretty much all primary colors in there, but we didn't paint the walls and go crazy like parents do these days. If we were going to do a nursery now, I would probably put more fun in to it, like painting light blue and putting sky and animals and grass and something fun.
