my eight year old son just got glasses. He really doesnt want to wear them, but he has to in school and what not. Should I consider contacts at such a young age or just have him ear glasses?

I think eight years old is way too young for contacts. He could easily lose them, or use them incorrectly and damage his eyes. I'd stick with glasses til he's a little older and more capable of being responsible with contacts.

Ya, I think thats what we are gonna do. its just hard for an eight year old to have to deal with glasses. Im sure he will adjust though.

I have glasses. They are smaller framed and I really like them. There are times when I want contacts however.

ya, my son seems to be ok with it. I told him when he is 13 we will look into contacts.

I wore glasses when I was a kid. My parents finally let me get contacts when I started high school (I was 14).

I don't think that's there a kid in the world that likes to wear glasses. Your son will just have to get use to them if he wants to see. Be prepared to become a Sherlock Holmes though. You're going to spend more time trying to find where he last left them then he's had them on.

And the places that you will find them. My daughter was always misplacing her glasses. I found them in the laundry, her toy box and her coat pockets. It wasn't until I found them in the freezer that I realized she was hiding them on purpose. They came up missing, again, and I told her that than rather look for them, we would go out and buy a new pair...it was coming out of her allowance. They showed up in hours.
