My cousin is in a committed relationship. We were on vacation last month and we got to see them. And they told us they're planning on becoming parents. She is going to go through the pregnancy and her life-partner's brother is going to be their sperm donor. I'm so happy for them. They truly love each other and I know they'll be great parents.

I think that's great. It's so hard to find that “special someone” that you can truly be happy with. I can't see making it more difficult by putting more restrictions on your choices. I'm glad they were able to find a donor. I hope complications don't arise in the future since they are using a donor that will be 'in the picture' in the future.

Just wondering, do they plan on telling the child at some point, who the biological father is?

That's so great. Congratulations to them. I hope they have a happy healthy baby. Maybe if they decide on another child, they can switch roles. Not with the same donor of course.

That is awesome!! How wonderful of her partners brother to offer to be the donor.

I hope they have an easy time getting pg, and a great time being pg. I'm sure they will make wonderful parents.

Knowing my cousin (and her partner), and knowing that my cousin lost her own father when she was just a child, I would say they'll definitely want to tell the baby who the wonderful man was who gave them the wonderful gift of parenthood. And since it will be the child's "uncle", unless he's against it, I'm sure the child will know as soon as he/she is old enough to understand.

That is great news! I love to hear that more and more people with life partners are able to become parents, I am really getting tired of people telling others they can not have children for their sexual preference. I have an amazing friend I went to HS with, and her sweetie right now has a son about 4, and they are still working out how to have another child, not sure who the donor would be, but I did offer up my husband. ;)
