My husband couldn't be there for the delivery of our second son. My mom stayed with me through it. She was so pleased I'd allowed her to be there. I did make her agree before hand, not to hold anything I said against me. But my labor was so easy, I didn't have to even think about watching my language.

I had father of children in with me, but they even knew dont worry about what I say haha. :) My girls great aunt/uncle and cousin were out in the waiting room. With my son, his grandparents were in the waiting room. :)

My mom was with me with my first one. And the baby's dad was there for the second one. I really liked having my mom with me better though, lol. If i ever have more, i think i'll want her in there either with dad, or just alone.

Since my baby's dad isn't around, I guess I will have to get someone else. I'm guessing it makes it easier to have someone you know with you. I don't think I could have my dad in there. That would just be too weird! My best friend is saying she wants to be with me. I'm thinking I”m going to let her. We've been through a lot together and I know she will be here for me the whole time.

I'd take your best friend up on that, clueless, you'll be glad to have her alongside you. I don't think your dad would want to be there in the delivery room anyway for all the graphic parts. Let's face it, giving birth is pretty messy and you leave your dignity at the door then pick it up again when you leave. He could always be close by in the waiting rooms if he wanted. :)
