I was going through some of my old baby books on my shelf and I found an old Parents magazine that I was saving on birth weight. Both my children were in the 6lb range. According to the article, a baby at 4 months should not more than double their birth weight.
It had me going through the scrapbook on my son. At 4 months he was 14ibs, 6 ozs. He was over his birth weight by 2lbs. I see that from there on he was over weight according to the article, at every check up. He was a hardy eater and the Dr. did say to cut back and I did. Then I started thinking that when he got old enough for Dad to take him out with him a couple of hours, they had always told me how they had a hot dog, or a pit beef, or something that maybe Dad needed to think twice about.
Just an FYI if you are trying to keep your child's weight within the norm. Tell Dad to cut back on the outings with food.
