Do you let your child play games on the internet? I personally don't, there are lots of scary things on the internet that I don't want my child exposed to.

Its going to happend at a certain age no matter what. Just have to talk to your children and make sure they understand whats on the net.
If they're little, it's just better to buy the software and let them play games on the computer. The older they get, the more you can teach them about playing online games. But not until they're old enough to understand about the bad sites they shouldn't be looking at.

No matter the age of the child they will at one point experience the net. if you keep them away they will be more likely to do things wrong. Even though there are scary things on the net they can be exposed to the same things in everyday life. I would teach them responsible use of the net personally. I have never been afraid of my son using the net, because I am his parent and I monitor and teach.

My 3 year old has internet access, and I have foxfilter, firewall, and constant supervision. His dad gets mad at me cause he tries to check his bank info on my son's computer and gets denied cause there is some X's in the site's content somewhere. haha
There's scary stuff, but parents have tools. It's just a matter of peelin your eyes back and searching.
