View Full Version : Johnson's Bedtime Products?

So I am going shopping later tonight for my best friend's baby shower and came across a coupon for the Bedtime Sweet Sleep Set while trying to find what to get her. Its only $15 before the $2 off and the 15% BRU coupon I found earlier this month. But is this stuff really ok to use on a newborn? I trust J&J but it seems rather fragranced for such a young one.

I wouldn't use any J&J stuff on my kid, even now let alone as a new born. Apart from the fragrances there are so many preservatives and other chemicals in there that I don't want on her. I basically work on the principle that if I wouldn't eat it, I won't put it on my child.

I have heard they make all natural from J & J, does anyone know about this? We are trying to be all natural but its really hard to find places that sell this in our area.

The J&J naturals stuff that I saw was a shampoo/body wash. I can tell you that the ingredients were not much different than any other on the shelves-they just added some nice natural stuff to it.

If you want natural things you need something that is natural from the base up, not natural products added to a chemical base. Look instead towards the Burt's Bees range-it's almost entirely natural and is available fairly widely at places like CVS.

I personally love the smell of J & J. It's one of the few scents that isn't too strong for me to handle. I am very sensitive to strong fragrances so if it works for me, it can't be that strong. I've never smelled the bedtime ones though. I, personally, think it would make a nice gift.

I'm not concerned about the "chemicals" in the product as much as the fragrance amount. So many people have sensitive skin and allergies/asthma I don't want to cause more issues than it helps. J&J products would probably be the most natural things she uses anyway, as she's the stereotype of a consumer. She's already painted the kids room, and asked for all matching crap for it. And picked out a queer name spelled all weird ;)

Personally I do not think that the natural is much better than the regular. They really only need to put in minimal natural ingredients to get the "Natural" on the label.

I think it would be nice, especially of it attractively packaged. The mom is the one who makes the final decision, so she will decide if she will use it. I have had much well meaning stuff that I have had to use myself because the baby just couldn't use them.

Right, that is the point! Something like the Burt's Bees stuff really is natural though, and totally different.

My kid had eczema flare ups related to the J&J bedtime lotion, which is why I switched.

I use baby bedtime bath in the bath when he bathes with me. But I never use baby bedtime lotion. the fragrance is too strong, but it's all about how the mother feels.
