Which is healthier? I would assume cooking it yourself would be the healthiest, but then I was thinking maybe they add vitamins or something to the jars of food that wouldn't be present in food you've cooked at home. What do those of you with more experience think?

I in no way have experience with this, but I feel that Baby Jar Food is always good.
I guess so. Babies have been surviving on it for years afterall. :) But what if the baby just doesn't like the jar food? My grandmother told me my dad would never eat it. She had him on table food right away. I don't necessarily think that is good, some of the seasonings might be too harsh for the baby. But it didn't seem to do him any harm. I know there are recipes out there specifically for baby food, I just wonder if those are healthy for a baby? And if you go that route, should you add some sort of vitamin supplement?

I think food you cook yourself is always healthier than what comes in a can or jar. As for adding a vitamin supplement, that might be something you'd want to discuss with your pediatrician.
