Luckily, my kids only got chicken pox. It was a fiasco. I felt so sorry for them. Even my hubby caught them. We were worried because he was over 30 and if you want more kids it came prevent that from happening, but we had both decided that the two that we had was enough.

One of the two things that I used was calamine lotion and baking soda. I would rinse everyone down in baking soda and water in the morning and in the evening I would slather everyone down in calamine. Both things helped to reduce the itching and dry the scabs out. Other than that that was all we could do?

What did you do for chicken pox?

I did the same thing. Being they were home anyway, I let them run around in their looser clothes. Maybe just the undies. The cooler the better and less chance of them scratching because they were over heating from running around.

I had chicken pox twice when I was seven. I stayed home from school for two weeks, got a shot of penicillin, took tepid baths, wore calamine lotion, and had to wear mittens to bed. Hated the mittens because I wanted to suck my thumb. Hey! Do not judge me. LOL! :p All of that both times. Pfshew!
