Right now I can't stop my mind from racing. All the time I am turning over thoughts about what we need to get ready.
And when I try and sleep it is even worse. The dreams are amazing-so vivid that they seem real. That is the trouble of course-the scary ones are real enough to wake me.
How do you turn off?

I've battled insomnia since I was in high school. I normally just don't flop over too much, get up and have a cup of tea or soothing bath or read until I'm tired. Sometimes trying to fall asleep makes it worse.

Try counting sheep. :D
Have you tried drinking milk? It does work on me but I don't know if it will work on you too? The problem with milk is that I get a bad stomach in the morning.:o
Its really hard to go to sleep when you force yourself to go to sleep. Try to relax first and have some fresh air. Don't think of anything especially your work tomorrow for it will just keep you thinking what to do which its supposed to be thought of after sleeping. In short, free your mind.

Try watching a show that is boring to you. This works always for me and I often left the TV open since I have already fallen into sleep. You also might wanna try doing some little exercise to tire your body up. Its like a normal thing for the body to rest up and get some sleep after the body did some workout.

Unfortunately this is a well known phenomenon of pregnancy. I do not understand why that is, but I too had the most vivid dreams when expecting.
Other than that, the day time stuff, all I can say is that maybe making lists would help. That way your fretting would be productive.

Vivid dreams are common to all pregnant women. But maybe you can prevent this by not thinking too much about anything. When you are about to sleep try to relax and think nothing but to sleep. That is what I am doing and it helps quite a while.
Sleep was evil for me both times pregnant, the dreams were insane. And the talk about sex dream, yea thats true too expect I wasn't in them, oddly I dreamed about all my friends having done the deed, but never me. What a shame, such good dreams and I wasn't even in them!
Don't try to fight if you cant sleep, get up read a book, take a nice shower or bath, just don't fight it, the more you do the more it will be miserable.
