We've all had them with our kids. They do or say something in mixed company or out in public. My son caused us the most time consuming and embaressing moment that we had to go through.
He stuffed a penny up his nose. He came walking into our bedromm and just as calmly as he could told his father and I that he had a penny stuck up in his nose.
At first we thought it was another one of his corny, attention getting jokes of his, but he started crying. We both jumped up and sure enough the penny was lodged in his right nostral, way up near the bridge.
We tried to get him to blow his nose, didn't work. We tried tweezers, but they wearn't long enough. We took him to the ER. The Dr.'s and the nurses were all trying to keep a straight face, but I knew they were about to lose it. He was so serious when he told him that he was trying to save money. I never wanted to figure out his line of reasoning on that one.
The forceps that he needed were not in the ER. They had to order it up from main supply. It took 4 hours. Meanwhile, he was getting antsy and said that he could breath alright so he wanted to go home. He eventually fell asleep.
While he was asleep, the forceps were finally delivered to the ER. The Dr came in and found him asleep and very slowly inserted the forceps up his nose and brought the penny out. Then my son wakes up and wanted to know when the penny was going to come out. He was very surprised when the Dr. showed him that it was aleady done.
Yep, my son wanted to keep the penny and BTW he did this on Lincoln's birthday....lol
