Did you play music for the baby before the baby was born? My hubby did. He was a musician. He played everything that he knew and I went around with him on his gigs. There was one piece that he played all the time when it was just him and I..."You are my sunshine"

When the baby was born, one night she was real fussy. He was playing all the soft pieces that he could think of. Nothing was working until he started playing that one song. She lowered her crying, turned her head towards the sound and stopped crying. Music hath soothed the common baby.

Awww, that's sweet. It makes you wonder if it's not just music, because Italked a lot to my baby. When he was born I noticed that there were certain phrases that he would either quite for or smile at.

My daughter spends an hour a day laying on the bed with headphones on her tummy playing CDs of soft music. She says it calms the baby.

I listened to music all the time when I was pregnant, but it was just music I liked. I never really intentionally geared anything toward the baby. Although, I think it probably is a very good idea and I'm glad to see my daughter doing that.

My wife liked to play soothing sounds, so I used to wait til she got to sleep to go to bed, because I like to watch TV when I go asleep.

Why would you play music during the pregnancy? It doesn't make much sense to me.

Unfortunately, we're not there to play music for the babies everyday. But we will play music for them once they're born.
