When you pick a name for a baby, do you pick it because it sounds good and rolls off your tongue easy or do you go for the name meanings?
My daughter's name is Kelly Allison. It meant "truthful warrior". It was a combination of gaelic and french.
My son's name is Paul Daniel. It meant "small, humble god". It was hebrew.

Well we named our son, Ryan, after my self and my father. I guess that made it easier for us to decide

I named my daughter Jamie and my son Jeremy. I've never even bothered looking up the names to see what they mean. My daughter is looking at baby names and their meanings to try to come up with something "perfect" for her daughter. She's got a few names she's kicking around right now. One that I've heard is Mackenzie. It litterally means "Son of Kenneth" (which is her husband's name), but it's a unisex name so she's considering it.

Mackenzie would be perfect. I hope that she would take it.

We haven't looked at baby name meanings at all. We've got a few names we're considering. We both have people we'd like to name the babies after. But, they're twins, so we can't decide if we should try to pick names that go together or just choose names we like. Who would have thought it would be this hard? We'll probably end up waiting til after they're born before we make any final decisions.
A combination of both. I've had a name at the top of my list for years. The only problem is I can't use it. I can't use it because the origin of the name is not in my or my husband's lineage.
