Does anyone here have twins? I'm just curious to see how many people choose names that sound similar when naming twins. Like rhyming names or names starting with the same letter? Or did you just choose two names in order to give the babies the most seperate identities possible?

I don't have twins. If I had I really don't think that I could give them matching names, like Ronald and Donald or Sharon or Karen. That just doesn't seem fair. It takes away their identity. When they get older, if the parents haven't given them a nickname, they are given one from their peers. So, what's the point of doing the rhyming thing?

Two of my best friends are twins. Their names are Abby and Katie. They have somewhat different personalities, but they are basically the same.
I agree with seeker. Give them distinct names so they can develop distinct personalities. Those cute little rhyming names are only cute when they're babies. The older they get, the more annoyed they'll be with it. I know twin girls named Kelsey and Chelsea. They're 15, and they hate their names. They use nicknames. They sign letters and stuff "K" and "C-sea". So after all that time their mom spent picking those names, they rarely ever get used.

I like rhyming names, but it takes away from the diversity of the child. I would go with non-rhyming.
