View Full Version : Nursing For Two

The twins are six months old now. When they were born they could not nurse because they were a little too small. But it didn't take long and I just expressed during the growing time for them.

From about two weeks old they have nursed like champs, and still have not had a drop of formula. It's been hard at times, but anyone can do it, the body is smart and knows how much milk to make.

I guess things will start to ease soon when they start solids.

From what others tell me, its all about supply and demand. When there is demand, the supply comes rushing in. I know some that have had to double up on nursing pads, just hearing another child will make them start to leak. :)

Having two, you must have your hands full! A friend of mine has twin girls about 8 years old now, and the first year she told everyone that she was ready to rip her hair out, because her girls were on opposite schedules, so she never got a real break. :)

Yes, whilst supply and demand is the theory, there are times when the 'girls' don't know that now would be a good time to stop. Nursing pads are not enough for me. I have to stuff my bra with a cloth diaper, or else I get soaked. I have been known even to tap a bottle to my not nursing boob to catch the leak, and I collected about four ounces the one time.
