We did Parents as Teachers for about a year.
When your child is 3 they *graduate* from the program so we are all done with it. I miss it though.
If you have one in your area DO IT!!! It is SO nice. Someone comes to YOUR home when YOU can be there with your child and you learn games each month and about where your child should be developmentally. It was very nice to have someone each month to talk about Noah's progress with and to reassure me that he was *on track* and my worries were normal. Also they GIVE you a game each month to play that teaches a skill of some sort. Noah loved almost all of them.
I wish we had gotten in on it sooner, but here there is waiting list so we didnt get to do it til Noah was already about 18mos. They do start them off as young as 3mos. Usually its done through your local school district, and a different program than Head Start as there is no income base for it and its geared/targeted for babies and parents.
