View Full Version : What's your opinion on the Canadian Sextuplets?

I guess everybody's heard about the premature sextuplets in Canada whose parents are Jehovahs Witnesses? I guess they've gotten a court order to take the babies away from the parents long enough to get them a blood transfusion. Blood transfusions are forbidden in the Jehovah's Witness religion. So, do you think they've done the right thing in taking these babies away or do you think they should follow the parents wishes according to the teachings of their church? I knew somebody that belonged to this religion, she said there was always something else they could do, they just always wanted to do transfusions because it was the easiest way. She had refused transfusions herself and they'd always found other treatment. But, we're talking about babies here. It's different when you're a grown up and you make that decision for yourself, but give the babies a fighting chance. That's my opinion.

I'm at odds on this. While I think the babies should get the proper medical care the religion is a major issue. Who's to say that left to their on devices that they could or could not make a difference for the children?
