How often do you have professional pictures taken of your baby? I want to record all the memories, but I don't want to seem obsessive. Do you think its a good idea to have professional photos done every month or two, or is it a better idea to just take lots of pictures yourself and have professional ones done at Christmas, Easter, Birthday, etc.?

Every month seems a bit excessive. Get a good digital camera and take tons of pictures yourself. You can view them on your computer, and delete the ones that come out blurry or where the heads are cut off, or something else goes wrong. Then burn them on a disk or print them out if you have a good photo printer, or just take them somewhere or send them off to be developed. Have professional portraits done on the special occasions, but you'll be amazed at the beautiful pictures you can take yourself.

Professional pics can be done maybe once a year. If you do the Christmas card or letter thing updates of the family in pics are usually the time for those type.

I've gotten into scrabooking, so I look forward to taking a lot of pictures myself for scrapbooks. As for the professional ones, I want one every Christmas and every birthday, I think that may be enough. I may end up doing Easter too though, I'm not sure yet. I'm sure the grandma's will encourage it.

We had some taken when Julian was about 4 months old. We will now have some taken next month. he then will be 13,5 months. I agree and thionk once a year is plenty. I do snap pics of him all the time anyway :D

I always get a picture with all of my siblings every mothers day. I feel it is a good gift for mom!
