When you buy clothes for the baby do you buy pink for girls and blue for boys? I did, but you know what? If you have a girl, it's hard to put your boy, a second child, in a pink onesie's and get people to believe that he is a boy...lol

All the clothes that I had bought for my daughter were pretty pinks, lavenders, and sunny yellows. Even the white t-shirts had little bunnies and duckies that had little cute bows on them. I had socks with lace edges. I had pink shoe laces and the bibs said, "Daddy's little girl." Oh, the snowsuit was definitely a bummer for my son. It was nice and thick, had lined footies to it, a hood with white fur around it and lavender with hand stitched bows all down the front.

My poor son...lol I was lucky to be able to trade some of the things that I had for more boy-ish colors with a mothers group I belonged with. I went for darker colors and things with little trucks, bears, or puppy dogs on them. Things with building blocks you can never lose with. I bought another snowsuit that was dark gray with hobby horses and sherif's badges on it.

Just a heads up on how not to buy clothes. It's okay to buy clothes that are gender suited, but bear in mind that your next one may not be the same sex as your first.

My daughter is going to have a little girl. I've bought so many pinks, and ruffles, and bows, and bunnies, etc. that she could probably have triplets and have enough clothes for all of them. That's not counting what she's bought and what the other grandparents, relatives, and friends have bought. And it's all as girly as girly can get. But it's the first for all of us. And next time there's a baby (if there is a next time) we'll likely do the same thing all over again. There will probably be no hand-me-downs unless it's something extemely special. Once the clothes are outgrown, my daughter will likely donate them to our church or a local shelter where they will be needed and appreciated.
