People tell me that my son is too slim, my husband is one of them. He likes to see a nice fat baby with chubby cheeks. He was a skinny baby. I am quite fine with his weight, he is in the normal weight average. He is also very active and I don't give him a lot of sweet things or fatty foods.

Well, if your baby is on the normal scale of being a healthy baby then he doesn't need to be chubby. Being chubby doesn't always mean that the baby is healthy. Being active is a good sign already that your baby is healthy.

I read this title and was going to reply you cant tell by my nickname? :) I have seen parents worry their kids are too plump before like a year old, and every time I have been around babies if their not a little plump then someone always thinks that something has to be wrong. It seems many forget we are all a little different. Plump or thin is fine as long as the little one is healthy, thats whats matters the most.

I just ignore people when they start with me, my son is very active and he eats often, so I am cool with it.

Ehh, I don't see what the big deal is. Some babies are born skinny, some are more chubby. As long as they are in the normal weight range, why worry?

Babies and toddlers will go through stages, some are slim some are plump. Most of mine that were plump, once they started to move around more, they slimmed down but still kept a health weight. Don't worry too much, but check with your doctor to be on the safe side. :)

Weight does tell something about the health of your baby. But it doesn't totally mean that your baby is not healthy if its slim. You should start worrying if your baby is becoming thinner as it grew older.

My baby goes from chubby to slim and back every few weeks, but his weight is normal, he's growing, eating and very active so i dont bother about it.

There are also big differences between breastfed and formula fed babies. Breastfed babies in their earliest days can have the biggest rolls you have ever seen, and yet they hit crawling age and turn into skinny minnies! Mine is just like this-the weight is now stable but his height is increasing.

I like them fat also but there is no right from wrong. All babies are different. It also depends if they are growing or not. There are many variables to a fat/skinny baby. I am sure you baby is just fine the way they are. I would not worry too much, only if you notice something off.

The biggest concerns would be if your child suddenly started to lose weight. As long as they are stable and remain on a fairly consistent growth curve then all should be well.
