I know there are a range of experience moms here, does anyone have potty training advice?

My little man is 3. Ask him to use the potty and he goes in to HYSTERICS. Literally, "I want my diaper", "you can't make me", and the whole 9 yards. I don't know why. He's never had a traumatizing bathroom experience! He gets stickers whenever he tries and he's a major sticky junky. I'm just at a loss.

His pediatrician says just to keep trying because she doesn't see a problem in his development in any other corner.

Have you been through this? What worked for you?

Of course I'm no expert, but have you tried bribery? :)

There's got to be a toy or something he really really wants. You could tell him that only big boys can have that toy, and when he's a big boy that doesn't need diapers anymore he might be able to get it. That tactic worked when my cousin was trying to get her daughter to give up her bottle.

We have tried bribing him with everything from stickers (which are his absolute favorite) to chocolate (which he's hooked on to my dismay).

Last night he told me he had to potty no less than 3 times while he was in the tub, and he DID. I was SOOOOOOOOOO excited. But today nothing but tears when I suggested using the potty like a big boy. Wouldn't have it, he came streaking to the front room in search of his diaper in hysterics.
