For any of the parents that are computer savvy, did you start your kids on the stuff like Leap Frog, or did you set them up their own computer when they started out? I have a friend that did the Leap Frog with her son, and he ended up breaking it. His father built him a computer that only allowed certain things on it, the kid was not able to install or do anything to mess it up and ended up treating it better the the leap frog system. I just wondered which route is better, I have seen both, but never seen a child understand a real computer at such an early age.

My oldest used to get rocked to sleep at the computer, as it showed just enough light so I could see in the dark w/o full blasting lights in the home. He ended up getting his own keyboard when he was about 1 1/2, so that he wouldn't try to rip ours from the desk. My youngest doesn't have one yet, but she soon will.
