How old do you think the twins should be before we explain to them about the surrogate? When do you think a child is old enough to understand?

This is a tough one in my opinion. My uncle was adopted, and my mom said that her parents used to read him books about kids who were adopted, and he finally got it. I am thinking you could do the same.

Jonnie's idea seems to be the best. Gently introducing it would be the way to do it.

Surrogacy is a very complicated thing to try to make a child understand. They're going to at least have to be old enough to understand the facts of life before they'll completely understand.

I would have to agree, that idea sounds like a great thing to do. But when they are old enough to understand or start to ask questions do not hesitate to give them a correct answer. At least if you can.
