Any grandparents here planning on starting a savings account for you grandchildren? My grandparents started me one and at least half of my money from b-days, holidays or special occasions had to be put in the account. Sometimes I hated it, but when I turned 18, I had a good chunk to play with and half of that I had to start in another savings account in my own name.

Both my son's grandparents have started a savings. One is his when he's 18 and the other when he's 21. I'm hoping that when he turns 18, he'll see where it makes more sense to deposit all of the one account into the other account.
